Industry After Care Tutoring / Mentoring at Monroe Square

 

Tutoring / mentoring is provided by volunteers to youth who were incarcerated at the Industry Limited Secure Facility in Rush NY, and are now serving the probationary portion of their sentence. 

 

For several months after incarceration and before full release, they must report several times each week to the After Care facility on the third floor of the Monroe Square building (on Monroe Avenue) in Rochester, NY.  While there they may have the option to receive tutoring from one of our volunteers rather than participate in their group counseling sessions.  Tutors have an opportunity to help students with their homework (usually reading and math), and / or on occasion work with the student or take them on a field trip off site.
